An ultralight cruiser, the Condor Tool & Knife Double Bit Michigan Axe has a 1.75 Lb head of 1060 carbon steel and an American Hickory Handle. This axe pattern was makes for an efficient, multipurpose tool for chopping, felling and splitting smaller timber while being a breeze to carry.
Head: 1060 Carbon Tool Steel is heat treated to 45-50 HRC, offering the optimal toughness you want in an ax. The head is hammer forge finished with polished edges for reduced friction in splitting, chopping and felling. Users often modify double bit axes to have one thin “racing” edge and one thicker edge for knots and more stubborn material.
Handle: The solid American Hickory handle gives the axe an overall length of just over two feet for a powerhouse chopper that is fast and nimble in the hand.
