Head: A simple, carbon steel axe head offers durability and performance with flared sides to deliver optimal splitting capabilities. The black PTFE (Teflon) coating helps to reduce friction, enhancing chopping performance as well as being non-reflective and corrosion resistance. The wide grind enhances chopping, splitting and durability for heavy chopping while still allowing for use in carving. An exposed hammer pole delivers added utility for tasks like driving stakes.

Handles: Durable and weather resistant glass filled nylon (GFN) delivers outstanding performance and is smooth for good hand transition in use while a section of rubber over mold deliver enough traction for security in the grip. Milled cutouts near the head enhance balance and offer traction for controlled work such as carving. A button locking water-resistant compartment in the handle houses a storage container that includes 60 inches of paracord and space for fire making equipment. At just over a foot in length and under 2.5 pounds this is an ideal choice for canoe, kayak, or general backcountry use.
