The Tactical Downrange Tomahawk from Gerber Gear is a purpose built breaching tool that is a functional as it is durable. Axe, hammer and pry bar all in one, the Downrange has a solid stainless steel, full tang construction making it strong and easy to maintain. Finished in a stunning black Cerakote coating paired with tan G10 scales offering a low-profile, high traction professional grade tool you can count on.
Brand new, direct from Gerber, USA.
Head:Â Made from durable and low maintenance 420HC stainless steel, the Downrange Tomahawk has a full tang construction for reliability and strength and is equipped with a robust poly-ceramic black Cerakote coating for discreet use and added corrosion resistance. The beveled edge of the head makes short work of drywall, walls and doors with a checked hammer pole opposite for hinges, doorknobs and other stubborn obstacles. A cutaway handle in the head reduces weight and is convenient for short carries.
Handles:Â Attached over the full tang construction are durable and weather resistant tan G10 scales. Attached with stainless Allen bolts, the scales have peel-ply texture for solid traction with additional milled grooves for a secure grip regardless of the task or conditions. The end of the handle forms a robust pry bar with nail/pin puller with plenty of leverage via the cutaway handle in the head.
Carries via a through-grip polymer head cover and pry bar end cover with MOLLE compatible nylon drop loop backing.
420HC Stainless Steel: 420HC is a stainless steel that provides excellent rust resistance, ease of re-sharpening and moderate edge retention while being exceptionally tough for a stainless steel. With proper heat treat it is said to preform similarly to VG-10 in wear resistance.
