TOPS Knives Smoke Jumper Fixed Knife

The TOPS Knives Smoke Jumper has been designed and built for use by wild land firefighters. These hard core individuals parachute into remote areas to directly combat wildfires. The thick and super strong blade can handle batoning and prying if required to clear brush to create firewalls. It features a strong reinforced tipped blade that can handle the strong downward strokes to penetrate and split wood.

Blade: The black traction coated 1/4” thick blade has one of the stoutest tips on the market. A large raised thumb ramp has jimping on both sides for two position placement and when used with the finger choil facilitates light cutting chores.

Handle: Twin black linen Micarta scales come bolted to the full tang with one pronounced finger groove and extended pommel end with lanyard hole. Jimping on the handle spine provides additional traction in the palm area for more control.

Sheath: Form fitted Kydex with rotating spring steel belt clip.

1095 Carbon Steel: Popular, simple carbon steel used extensively by production and custom knife makers. Low abrasive wear (edge retention) due to low carbide content and easy to sharpen to a fine edge. Not corrosion resistant and will rust without proper care. Some makers use a differential heat treat process, which delivers a harder edge and tougher spine for enhanced performance.
